My Rainbow Diary :: In The Pursuit For Happiness.

I want to be happy, you want to be happy. Everyone wants happiness. Consequently, it is not uncommon to find people spending their life time on a quest for happiness. Led by the misconception that happiness is attained by having or getting, they relentlessly chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, material items and people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is,the only place they ever needed to search, was within.
Within? Yes,within! Within you!
‘How’? You may ask. This is because happiness is an attitude! It is a task you impose not on others or circumstances but on yourself. Happiness is not based on something you see, like a rainbow or feel, like the heat of a fire. That is why you don’t have to see things being good or feel good to be happy. If you want to be happy, you must decide that you are going to,no matter what. No matter how bad things get,or how rotten you feel,or how much people hurt you. You must come to the decision that you don’t need more money, you don’t need greater success or fame, you don’t need the perfect body or the perfect mate. All you need to experience happiness is to embrace the right attitude, and the right time for that,is now. This very moment, not tomorrow, not next week, not when things get better.
Come to terms with the fact that you cannot change the inevitable. You can’t always have things within the grasp of your control. The only thing you can do is to play on the one string that you have and that is your attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you….we are in charge of our attitudes,we are in charge of our happiness. Embrace this truth and be happy.

Chill pills.
1. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It is in here. And happiness is not next week, it is now.
2. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you find happiness in what you do, you will be successful.

My Rainbow Diary :: The Mystery Of Time

I noticed her eyes glistened with emotions as her lips parted, giving voice to the words that made them man and wife. As i watched with obvious longing, the elderly lady beside me fondly squeezed my hands and said “it is her time, yours will come”. A year later, seated in church, the pastor took his reading from the book of Ecclesiastes chapter three. It read “to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven……”. He read on to the eighth verse ” a time to love……..”! That struck me and then the questions began to erupt.
I asked myself rhetorically; is love dependent on a specific time or is it an emotion capable of springing up just about anytime? How do i know the right time to love? Is there a specified time to meet one’s spouse? If one should miss his or her time, is there a possibility of restoration? Is the time to love self-created or imposed?
The questions went on and on but one thing is certain, you have your “time”, i have mine. knowing yours and functioning in it is a responsibility you alone can fulfil.

My Rainbow Diary :: Day After Day

Day after day, countless people across the globe get their dreams and aspirations hewed down. This isn’t because they aren’t capable but because they permit mere words to thrive in the soil of their minds. I am talking about deterring words such as; can’t, difficult, impossible, unattainable, unfeasible….etc
Often times these words are birthed in our subconscious as we focus on our weaknesses rather than strengths. Other times, they are planted by myopic people who self employ themselves as the judge of our abilities, jury of our decisions and executioner of our aspirations. Nudging us into the calm waters of their preferences, rather than encouraging us to the deep and uncharted waters, where the greatness of our potentials eventually erupt.
To be honest, these words aren’t facts but opinions! They aren’t truth but temporary lies! They can be changed, annulled, disregarded and conquered!
You got a dream, you gotta protect it. Don’t ever let someone tell you what you can and can’t do. You want something? Take the next step and go get it, period!

Chill pills.
1. No one can tell you what’s right for you except yourself. So start telling yourself what to do. If you blunder for 10years thinking for yourself, that’s rich treasure when compared with living those 10years under the mental domination of another.

My Rainbow Diary [Today]

Everyday u wake up you think it is just another day in your life? No it is not! It is a priceless gift! A fresh opportunity! A clean start to live, hope and dream again.
The most appropriate response to such a gift as TODAY is gratitude! Gratitude for every moment, for the air in your lungs, the rhythm of your heart and the miracle of life. Gratitude for all that is and all that’s yet to be. Not waiting to have it all but being grateful for now and all it brings.
If you do nothing but cultivate a response of gratitude, treating this day as though it were your last, you would have spent it well.

My Rainbow Diary

One thing I have learnt in life is the value of individuals. I do not attach importance to people based on their status, I’m just as cordial with a gate keeper as I am with an elite.
Erroneously some people believe they need to know the ‘high and mighty’ to be successful in life and so they strive to belong to a certain elite clique and in so doing despising others they perceive to be ‘nobodies’
The biblical story of Joseph’s transit from a prisoner to prime minister in egypt is profoundly instructive. It is worthy of note that Joseph wasn’t brought to the spot light by an elite in egypt, he was made known by a commoner, a third class citizen,a servant-a butler!
Daily treat others with respect. The key to your glorious future might just be in the hands of a waiter, driver or maid.

Chill pills.
1. Sometimes our attitudes towards others and not prayers is the key to our breakthrough.
2. Love your neighbour as yourself, treat your neighbour as yourself.

My Rainbow Diary

Why stay in the dark when you can turn on the light? Why refuse to shine when you can shine so bright? Those were the words that aroused me from the swooning grasp of a sinking mood swing. I laid in bed drenched in condemning thoughts, It seemed my past was waging a vengeful war at me as negative memories played on the screen of my mind. Reminding me of all I wasn’t,justifying why I couldn’t,shouldn’t and wouldn’t be all I ought to. The more I embraced the subtle caresses of its molestations, the deeper I sunk in despair.
Then I heard the voice and it dawned on me,i realised i was incharge! I had the power to refrain from being the victim of a trap set to steal my joy. So i said to myself; I will change my thought and increase my lot,i will remember good things on purpose and refuse to dwell in sorrows,i will turn on the light and shine so bright.

We can’t always help how we feel but we can learn to manage those emotions so they don’t control us.

My Rainbow Diary

Relentlessly,I have mulled over the reason for my existence, the mundane routine by which i lead my life gives an unsettling feeling of discontentment. I feel like a mannequin living the details of my selfishness. Moreso, the gluttony motivation by which most lives are driven veers them from a greater path of living to a lesser path of existing, neglecting the innate purpose of being our brother’s keeper.
While the experiences which comes with the phases of growth, progress and achievements in life could be exciting and rewarding, giving a temporary feel of fulfilment,it still isn’t the raison d’ etre and never gives absolute satisfaction. This is because, man by nature is on an insatiable quest for accomplishments, always wanting more and more and more in an endless journey of personal gain inevitably stopped by the sting of death.
The essence of a well led life, must border on the depth of its ability to exert influence not just on itself but also an extended audience within the sphere of its contact. That after all is the golden rule encapsulated in the four-letter treasure residing, mostly dormant, in the hearts of all men- LOVE.
Love is not a feeling imposed by emotions but a decisive act imposed by will. It is verbalized by a self-giving action which will not stop to inquire whether or not others are deserving of our love but will go the extra miles: giving freely more than is required, never relenting, forgiving and forgetting quickly, stretching beyond the limits and expectations of people, helping them be who they want to be and giving their lives a meaning. For It is in loving that we know ourselves,it’s in knowing ourselves that we begin to live, and in living our lives truly count. For at the end of life, our questions are pretty simple; Did I live fully? Did I love well?

Chill pills.
1. The best way to live is to love without a reason.
2. You can’t make someone love you but you can’t allow their refusal to love you stop you from loving them.
3. People are unreasonable, illogical and self centered…,love them anyway!
4. The best portion of a good man’s life are his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.
